Cabinet approves ISRO Technical Liaison Unit at Moscow

Cabinet has given nod to the setting up of ISRO Technical Liaison Unit (ITLU) at Moscow in Russia.He said, ITLU will also support the ongoing bilateral programmes of cooperation in space technology and act on behalf of ISRO.

 

Singapore Tops Asia In Dell Global Women Entrepreneur Cities Index 2019, Bengaluru Top Indian City

According to the latest “Women Entrepreneur Cities Index 2019”, sponsored by Dell and conducted by London-based global information provider, IHS Markit, The Singapore tops in Asian city ranked at 21st position.Indian cities Bangalore (Karnataka) and Delhi ranked 43rd (7th in Asia) and 50th (10th in Asia).  San Francisco Bay Area topped the list followed by New York and London.

Richest Indian Mukesh Ambani (49th), IOC Chairman Sanjiv Singh(69th) are among the 10 Indian CEOs named in CEOWORLD Magazine’s global ranking of the most-influential CEOs in 2019. Ben van Beurden, CEO, Royal Dutch Shell Second and third rank Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Chairman and CEO, Arcelor Mittal.

 

Indian Federation of Sports Gaming appoints Justice A.K. Sikri as ombudsman

The Indian Federation of Sports Gaming (IFSG), country’s self-regulatory industry body for the online fantasy sports gaming sector, on Monday announced the appointment of Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri as its ombudsman and ethics officer.Joining IFSG as the industry body’s first ombudsman, Justice A.K. Sikri will be responsible for investigating queries/complaints raised by the users of the online fantasy sports gaming platforms. 

 

Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha pass away

The body of Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha has been found from the Nethravathi river, according to TV reports on Wednesday. Siddhartha’s body was found on the banks of the river near the Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru. Siddhartha, the founder of India’s largest coffee chain, went missing on Monday night.

Meghalaya becomes first state to have water policy

Amid the water crisis in the country, the Meghalaya cabinet became the first state to approve a draft water policy to address water issues, conservation, and protection of water sources in the state.

 

India’s Anshula Kant is World Bank MD and CFO

The World Bank Group on Friday announced that Anshula Kant, an Indian national, has been appointed its next MD and CFO. Ms. Kant will be the first woman CFO of the Bank.“Anshula brings more than 35 years of expertise in finance, banking, and innovative use of technology through her work as CFO of the State Bank of India,” World Bank Group president David Malpass said via a statement.

 

Prithvi Shaw became the brand ambassador of FanMojo

FanMojo first came to the market in 2016. After a series of glitches and gaffes, the startup made a comeback in 2018. And the fantasy sports platform started gaining momentum. Recently, they appointed Prithvi Shaw as their brand ambassador.

 

Four venues appointed for historic FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019

The Estádio Bezerrão in Brasília (Gama) will make football history on 26 October when it hosts the opening match of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the first-ever edition of this prestigious tournament to be staged in Brazil. TikTok partners with National Skill Development Corporation

Short video platform Tik Tok announced on Monday that it has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to support skill development in India and celebrate World Youth Skills Day 2019.

 

Goa New Deputy CM Chandrakant Kavlekar

The four new ministers inducted into the Goa cabinet will be allotted portfolios on Monday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Sunday. Chandrakant Kavlekar, who was the Leader of the Opposition, will be designated as Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Sawant told reporters.

 

Acharya Devvrat appointed Governor of Gujarat

“Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Himachal Pradesh is transferred and appointed as the Governor of Gujarat,”. The appointments will take effect from the dates the leader assume charge of their respective offices.

Vidisha Baliyan From UP Becomes 1st Indian To Be Crowned Miss Deaf World 2019

The event was held in Mbombela, South Africa, where Vidisha bagged the title among 11 finalists from 16 participating countries. Vidisha, who is a modelling student of Asian Academy of Film & Television, posted several pictures of her hard-earned victory on Instagram.Sharing her crowning moment she said she felt surreal to become ‘the first Indian to win in the Miss Deaf World Category’.

 

46th National Women Chess Championship

Defending champion Bhakti Kulkarni of Air India assured herself of the title with a round to spare, after posting a win over Tamil Nadu’s K Priyanka in the 10th and penultimate round of the 46th National Women Chess Championship here on Friday.

RAW officer appointed as new BSF Director General

Mr. V.K. Johri, a 1984-batch IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the next Director General (DG) of the country’s largest border guarding force, BSF, an official order said on Sunday.The order has been issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) that is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has Home Minister Amit Shah as its member. He is presently serving as the Special Secretary in the external intelligence agency RAW, under the Cabinet Secretariat.

 

Pune MP Girish Bapat appointed chairman of estimates committee

Girish Bapat, BJP leader and Pune member of Parliament, has been appointed chairman of the estimates committee. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla made the appointment on Friday.

 

Badri Narain Sharma re-appointed as chairperson of National Anti-profiteering Authority

The government on Thursday re-appointed Badri Narain Sharma as chairman of the National Anti-profiteering Authority (NAA) which ensures that consumers get benefit of reduced prices under the Goods and Services Tax (GST). At present the NAA has three members — J C Chauhan, chairman, tax tribunal, Himachal Pradesh; and Indian Revenue Service officers R Bhagyadevi and Amand Shah.

Olympic champ Dalilah Muhammad sets new 400 meter hurdles record in 52.20 seconds, smashed previous mark of 52.34 seconds.Muhammad’s time smashed the previous mark of 52.34 seconds set by Russian Yuliya Pechonkina in 2003.
